We have been developing the download section of our website into a more advanced database where you from now can find all downloads (with many thanks to Mark Barnes who has developed the Sermon Browser plug in).
From now on you can find all downloads in downloads under the resources drop down menu (or you can use the downloads button on the main page). We aim to post any downloads of the Sunday morning no later then Monday noon.
This term gets underway again with a Week of Prayer (8 - 12 September). ‘You have not because you ask not’ is a simple yet profound observation from the Bible on the key role prayer has in seeing the purposes of God unfold in our generation. I urge you to make this Week of Prayer a top priority.
Presence
When God’s people gather together in His Presence significant things happen, and this autumn term our weekend together as Newfrontiers Churches here in the East of England at Pontin’s Holiday Camp Pakefield 24th - 26th October will be a significant milestone for us. I believe the weekend will prove to be not only a fantastic time of fellowship and getting connected more strongly in relationships with others across the region, but also, I believe we will see a fresh strategic move forward in mission and church planting both here in our part of the UK and beyond into the nations. As I write around 1300 are already booked in - If you’ve not booked in as yet I wholeheartedly encourage you to do so. Come and be part of the adventure of doing something new together for Jesus…
Power
We believe God has spoken to us about touching lives with His Power. As well as a Vision Sunday in October to get us freshly focused on what God has placed us here in Lowestoft to do, we are also starting a major new Sunday Morning Series entitled, ‘Authentic Jesus’. Taking our teaching material from Mark’s Gospel we believe that as we Present Jesus in all His fullness the series will significantly impact the growing number of people joining us on Sunday mornings from all ages, walks of life and backgrounds - prayer and ministry will be offered each week. Additionally, we believe each of us, members and regular attendees, will be challenged and encouraged by the series to raise our own level of faith and boldness. Finally, we are in days when many people are wondering and asking, ‘What is the answer to the needs of the world?’ Our headlines show us daily the brokenness of the world around us - the fragility of the world economy, for example, shows us that man is a vulnerable creature. These are days for us to be bold in proclaiming Christ as the answer.
The Church is to showcase the Glory of God to a lost world. We are here on His behalf to pass on in word and deed a message of love, hope, forgiveness and redemption. We have Alpha Courses planned, and a variety of community interactions going on through this coming term. Many of us are finding that our circles of friendships are increasingly including people who do not know anything about Jesus. I encourage you to be bold this term in praying for those in need, in encouraging those who are going through hard times and in sharing hospitality with the lonely and isolated.
We must not be afraid to be Good News, to speak Good News and to show Good News.
Let us impact this town with the love of Jesus.
