God Loves Lowestoft

We believe that God loves Lowestoft and we have a passion to serve and bless our local community, by demonstrating love in practical and tangible ways, we help to make a positive impact on the lives of those around us. Whether it’s through volunteering, acts of kindness, or community initiatives, our aim is to help foster a sense of unity, support, and compassion in Lowestoft. Showing God’s love through doing.

FISH (Food in school holidays)

The FISH project has grown over the years in Lowestoft and now seeks to serve families in Lowestoft throughout the town every day during the school holidays. Working in partnership with other local churches and organisations FISH aims to provide children and their families who would normally rely on free school meals with a free meal during the holidays when the schools are closed. The FISH project is more than just a meal though! During one of our sessions, there’s always plenty of fun, games and craft.

Lowestoft Foodbank

Helping local people in crisis. Lowestoft Foodbank provides three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

The Lowestoft Foodbank is run by Lowestoft Community Church. A large team of volunteers from churches, organisations and members of the local community make it possible for Sam and the team to serve those in the most need on our community.

Visit the Lowestoft Foodbank Website for more details and to donate to the project.

CAP

Christians Against Poverty was set up to help and support people crippled by debt; parents who couldn’t feed their children, families facing eviction and desperate people living in fear and without hope. CAP workers and volunteers are trained to negotiate with creditors, set up budgeting systems and offer a lifeline to those trapped in debt. Caroline, our trained CAP advisor, comes alongside those in the most difficult circumstances and walks with them, to equip them and to see them walking in freedom.
